Eagles reportedly 'on the hunt' for a top cornerback in the 2024 NFL Draft
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

When Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman wants something, he goes and gets it.

Heading into this year's NFL Draft, Roseman wants a cornerback, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Russini adds that Roseman has been working the phones to trade up to get exactly who he wants.

"Be ready for “Houdini Howie.” A league source said the Eagles have called to move up from No. 22. Howie Roseman is on the hunt for a cornerback," Russini writes in her latest buzz article

The Eagles have not selected a cornerback in the first round of the draft since 2002, but it's time to break that trend.

Philly's pass rush single-handily carried the team later season while their secondary struggled. James Bradberry and Darius Slay's ages are catching up to them and the depth behind them doesn't scream impact weapon which is what the Eagles need.

There are plenty of top-talent cornerbacks in the draft but there are only two that stand out from the rest and that's Alabama's Terrion Arnold and Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell.

Sportskeeda's NFL insider Tony Pauline is hearing that the Eagles "desire" Mitchell and are looking to swap picks with the Denver Broncos.

If that's the case, then the Eagles would move up from No. 22 overall to No. 12. They would also likely give up one of their two second-round picks.

Don't miss out on what Roseman decides to do when the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
