Browns take care of huge offseason task before heading into rookie minicamp
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Browns have checked off one offseason task that they absolutely had to.

The Browns have inked five of their six draft selections to their rookie contracts and signed seven undrafted free agents officially.

Third-round pick Zak Zinter, fifth-round pick Jamari Thrash, sixth-round pick Nathaniel Watson and seventh-round picks Myles Harden and Jowon Briggs all put the ink to the paper. Their first selection that came in the second round, Michael Hall Jr., is the only draft pick that remains unsigned right now.

Hall will still be able to participate in rookie minicamp with the rest of the young guys this weekend and will soon sign his contract.

Undrafted free agents signed by the Browns

  • Javion Cohen, OG, Miami (Fla.)
  • Christopher Edmonds, S, Arizona State
  • Dyshawn Gales, CB, South Dakota State
  • Winston Reid, LB, Weber State
  • Aidan Robbins, RB, BYU
  • Lorenzo Thompson, OT, Rhode Island
  • Treyton Welch, TE, Wyoming

Cleveland will run their rookie minicamp this weekend and get their first look at all of the new guys on the field in Berea. We will hear from Kevin Stefanski on Friday and players will be available for interviews throughout today and tomorrow.

The 2024 NFL Draft marked the final set of picks that the Browns owed the Houston Texans for the trade of Deshaun Watson. Cleveland did not pick until No. 54 in the draft when they took Hall, who should have the biggest impact of any of the rookies in 2024, even though he likely won’t start.

Rookie minicamp runs in Berea, Ohio from May 10-12 and the season is coming quicker than you may think.
