Watch: ESPN releases trailer for 'Imperfect: The Roy Halladay Story'

ESPN's "The Last Dance" documentary about Michael Jordan has been a hit, and now they're set to venture into the world of Major League Baseball. ESPN will air "Imperfect: The Roy Halladay Story" on May 29, and they released an incredible preview that will tell the story of one of baseball's most impressive pitchers.

As many people know, Halladay died in an aviation accident when his ICON A5 amphibious plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida in 2017.

Halladay's death stunned the sports world, but new details were released regarding his death last month.

The former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher reportedly had a dangerous mix of amphetamine, morphine and other prescription drugs in his system and was doing flight acrobatics before the time of his death, according to the New York Times' Michael Levenson.

The Hall of Famer's battle with addiction and depression will be explored in this new story from ESPN, and it'll likely prove that the common fan doesn't know half of what professional athletes deal with on a daily basis.

Halladay pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays before moving on to the Phillies in 2010, and is a two-time Cy Young winner, eight-time All-Star, thrower of a perfect game and recent Hall of Fame inductee. Through 16 years in MLB, Halladay went 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.178 WHIP and 2,117 strikeouts.
